Beautiful Mess is a song by Jason Mras. It is about a woman full of contradictions, like many of us are. The song is,  personally, very inspiring. However a beautiful mess is not necessarily contradictions. It could also mean a beautiful find, in the most unlikely place.

Beautiful messes are everywhere. Sometimes you just need to look harder. As a designer, one is constantly looking for inspiration, and generally we all know the best places to go.

Tip: Check your Trash/Recycle Bin on your computer for hidden gems!

I’m one of those people who gets nervous about securely emptying my Trash can, especially when I can’t remember what I threw out. So to curb that nervousness, I always check my can to see what’s inside. To my surprise, there were lovely photos inside.

One More Tip: Another good place to check would be the Temporary Internet Files folder on Windows XP machines. Sometimes your computer saves images from the Internet that you don’t even see. This folder may have help to spark some inspiration.
